Ultimately, you should have two perfect pairs: a darker wash pair that feels more elevated to dress up, and a lighter wash casual pair that is comfortable to wear all day. 

I currently swear by Abercrombie's Curve Love line of jeans and shorts, which are tailored specifically for those of us with curvy bodies that constantly struggle with too tight in the hips/too loose in the waist conundrum. Whether worn with tailored pants, draped over a dress, or thrown on with jeans and a t-shirt, it sharpens any look. It doesn’t have to be stuffy either - experiment with cuts, fabrics, or even an oversized fit for a more modern take.

For a truly timeless look, balance the fit between tightly fitted and oversized, as, regardless of trends, a classic fit will never go out of style.

A quality leather jacket is one piece that can withstand the cyclical nature of fashion, where every few years fits swings back and forth between fitted and oversized. I have a beloved fitted All Saints leather jacket from a number of years ago that is in my closet patiently waiting to get brought back into rotation, and still looks pristine.

A low block heel strikes the perfect balance between elegance and practicality, while a classic pump adds instant sophistication for dressier moments. The little black dress (LBD) earns its reputation for a reason. It’s simple, flattering, and effortlessly chic. Whether you go for a fitted, structured silhouette or a more relaxed, flowing style, the magic of the LBD lies in its versatility - dress it up for an event, keep it casual for brunch, or layer it with a blazer for work. And there's nothing quite as chic as a mini dress under a long coat.

A classic black pair is a foolproof staple, easily dressed up with a blazer or kept casual with sneakers and a tee, or with a bralette top or bathing suit and sandals for a  European summer look. 10. All-Purpose Linen Or Tailored Shorts

Tailored shorts are the ultimate summer essential - breathable, lightweight, and effortlessly stylish, and work will with a tucked in button up and heels for an old-money-aesthetic dressed up look, or a bikini and sandals for daytime. Their relaxed yet refined vibe makes them perfect for beach days, city strolls, or casual brunches. Pair them with a white shirt, a tank top, or a knit sweater for an easy, breezy look. Stick to neutral shades like beige, white, or khaki for maximum versatility.

A great vintage find brings character to your wardrobe in a way no mass-produced item can.
